Once again and for as long as I’m able, am taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise awareness and funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis.

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure. I was diagnosed at 21 through an acute and aggressive flare that sent me straight to the ED for 5 days that completely altered my life. I lost the ability to walk and most sensation across my body.  To be a young person losing facility and experiencing the fragility of physical wellbeing was incredibly confronting and eye opening. I am so incredibly lucky to be able again and living a big, beautiful life! I live with manageable symptoms due to treatment which also works to ensure I don’t continue to deteriorate. I’m so grateful for this, but it is not, and there currently is no cure.
