Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure.

Please make a donation and support my challenge to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

Thank you!

MY IMPACT TO LEAVE MS BEHIND OVER 4 YEARS

My Updates

My Journey

I've been living with MS for 16 years now, with initial symptoms dating back to 2009.

I've been through countless medications (some have caused permanent damage) including chemotherapy to combat the progression of this disease and I am very grateful to have been able to hold off progression for as long as I have.

Living with MS is hard, and the reality is I'm on life support overnight to assist my breathing (Sleep Apnea due to muscles not working properly because of MS) and I have regular physiotherapy and exercise physiologist appointments to help prevent my muscles from deteriorating.

I am in constant pain, always tired (sleep doesn't fix this) and have to be in a wheelchair when I fly anywhere.

There are many other symptoms I experience but I'm trying to focus on the positive as I write this.

My son Sebastian knew I had MS and would constantly be doing things to help me.
One day back in 2015 (he was 7 at the time) he placed his hand on my back while I was walking up the stairs at Mum's place. I asked him what he was doing, and he said "Helping you up the stairs Mum". My champion, my amazing helper. (For those who don't know our story, my son died in 2016 at age 8 from an incredibly rare type of aneurysm - no. 16th child in the world to ever have an aneurysm that size in that part of his brain).

This year I successfully completed the MS Walk Run & Roll 4.5km walking course! It has been a goal of mine to be able to run, and completing this course (with help and a walking stick) is a HUGE step forward (pun intended) in the right direction!!!

Please support me and others in our MS journeys and let's fight this disease together.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

Thank you for your support!
