Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure.

Please make a donation and support my challenge to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

Thank you!

My Updates

May 30 & 31

I walked over 24km in my final 48 hours of this challenge. I started the month off with a bang and might as well finish it off the same. I’m so proud to have achieved this goal and raised money for such an amazing cause. My shin splints are so sore, my back is tired but my heart is full and happy. Thank you to everyone for their support and encouragement. Sharing this journey, even some of the kms with my friends and family, made it even more special. We did it!!

May 27 - 29

It’s getting towards the end of the month and my body is sore and tired, so small walks more frequently to make sure I’m still get in the kms

May 21-26

Catch up on all my walks for the week!

May 18

Best part of all this walking has really been the walks I’ve gone on with my friends and family, just yapping away and enjoying the day

May 16 & 17

Today included my favourite walks so far. It was rainy and overcast but lovely for a walk around my neighbourhood instead of driving. It put the walk before work yesterday morning to shame.

May 15

A decent day of km today! It’s officially the halfway point of the month but I’m sitting at 48% of my goal. I’ll have to start adding some more walking in where I can

May 14

Despite how freezing the autumn chilly nights have started to get, it was a gorgeous cool night for a walk! A bit of a change of pace outside my schedule but lovely as always

May 12 & 13

My back wasn’t feeling too crash hot (spine issues) BUT still got a walk in across both days. Slow and steady to get to my target of 150km!

May 11

I’ve been absolutely loving walking Sadie along the Merri Creek Trail and around Coburg Lake. She’s been having a ball of a time too

May 10

My first Park Run (but a walk) and a gym walk to get my kms in for the day

May 9

I need to play catch up on my blog posts!!

May 8

Shorter walk this morning and then hopped off at a different tram stop to add in some more walking. Walking through the back streets of Coburg and stubbled across something filming in full swing

May 7

Wednesday is my rest day at the gym and usually consists of stretching and mobility exercises for my back, followed by a walk on the treadmill. I have discovered I love watching Landline on the treadmill. All the agricultural news I never thought I would need but keeps me facisinating while I clock the kms.

May 6

Forgot to post yesterday so playing catch up! Feeling good at already being over 20% of the way to my target but the month is not endless, and I have a lot of major events on. Step by step I’m sure I’ll reach my goal

May 5

Little tired this Monday morning after a chockers weekend. Shorter walk at the gym for a bit of a rest before heading to work to crack on with the week

May 4

Headed back along the Merri Creek and around Coburg Lake today with Emily and two special guests! Patch and Sadie were also a bit pooed after today’s longer walk

May 3

Spent the day in Trentham at Spudfest but walking around enjoying potato themes food and Spud Olympics doesn’t count to my goal. Went the the gym to walk 3.5km before heading out for the evening. Had to fit in a daily walk towards my goal!

May 2

Lovely longer walk along the Merri Creek and around Coburg Lake to start the day with Renee

May 1

Started the day off at the gym at 5am as always, adding 2.5km walk on the treadmill to get cracking towards my goal. Hopped off the tram early at Carlton to walk 1.8km into the city to the office. Day 1 doesn’t feel like a lot, but consistently walking each day, as well as some longer walks, those KMs are sure to climb quickly.
