Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure.

Please make a donation and support my challenge to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

Thank you!

My Updates

Challenge done!! woohoo!!

I had the awesome pleasure of completing the last 11kms of this challenge with my dad at the Happy Valley reservoir this morning. My dad is such an inspiration to me. So encouraging and supportive. Now onto the next challenge!

West beach parkrun

OK its finally, officially cold in Adelaide. I’ve been in shorts and singlets since summer but today was the first day I regretted my bare leg decision!! soooo fresh at West Beach this morning 🥶🥶🥶. but another fun run, this time with Mark, Mum and Dad. Love you guys 😘

Day off for mothers day!! woohoo!

break day today. Great day celebrating with family 😍😍

Esplanade seacliff parkrun today

what a beautiful morning for a run along the beach!! Me with my girl and my dad. Shame Mark had to work!!

autoimmune diseases

Running usually has my mind wondering all over the place.  Today my thoughts wandered to those living with autoimmune diseases. An autoimmune disease is nothing anyone can prevent. It’s not one we can get rid of through changes in lifestyle, and it can be super annoying when people think these things are self-inflicted because of the way we live our lives!  People’s resilience in managing these bastard conditions really do showcase their true strength. Our first AI diagnosis often is a harsh wake-up call, something that takes time to come to terms with. And often, where there's one autoimmune disease, others follow. Personally, I’m up to 4 AI diseases. But since the age of 12, I've been fortunate to have a brilliant team of specialists by my side. Thanks to the leaps and bounds in medical science and technology, navigating life with these conditions has become significantly easier. It's a testament to human ingenuity and the unyielding spirit of those who face these challenges head-on. Fundraising is so vital for the continued improvements we’ve been fortunate enough to see over the years.  Whilst MS is not one of my conditions – I know a handful of people who have it - it’s one that I feel deserves time in the spotlight and it makes me feel proud to complete this challenge. I count my lucky stars everyday that I can.

Do we celebrate pws as well as pbs?

We settled on the Pattawalonga River Parkrun for today’s activities. Such a beautiful morning for it. Had the added bonus of the commercial aircraft flying closely overhead. Mark and Abbey joined me today but there was no chance of her being in the picture!! It was probably my Personal Worst parkrun effort today so I’m just gonna celebrate that! why not! slow but felt great. great day to be alive!!

whose idea was this?!

I’m not sure if I agreed to do this charity run before or after I agreed to have shoulder surgery on 24 April - one week before it started?? Either way it wasn’t my greatest idea!! Yesterday, day one, it took me an hour to do 8km. had to start super early too because I was also returning to work that day. It was a very slow, gentle run/walk on the treadmill. all while keeping 1 arm from swinging. Today was a little easier on the shoulder but feeling very flat. At least distance covered has bought me 1 day off this month so far! phew. I think I’ll need it!! All so worth it of course as this is nothing to complain about really. I’m ever so lucky to even be able to do this challenge. Hoping to bring more positivity tomorrow. Now to decide which Parkrun to do tomorrow. I’m open to suggestions (just not Belair again!!)
