I'm 50km this month to leave MS behind
Support my challenge to leave MS behind!
I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge and will be leaving my limits behind to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!
Sadly, MS is commonly diagnosed in the prime of life between just 20 - 40 years old.
As many of you know, my husband has lived with MS since 2005. He suffers constant debilitating pain and fatigue, often unpredictable in onset. He counts himself luckier than many, managing to live a relatively normal life despite the challenges. But the heavy question still remains, what does the future hold?
I need your help to leave MS where it belongs, behind us. Research is the key to changing the future of MS and I’ve accepted The May 50K challenge to change lives.
I also want to take this opportunity to make a huge shout-out to MS Queensland. They have been incredibly supportive over the last few years and our family is truly grateful for their services.
Please make a donation to support my challenge.
The Hard YardsI started with 15km, and wondered if I could push another 5 today, but my left knee was screaming a definite no. This morning was a lesson of pushing through a wall of struggle. But focus on the objective, determination and the reminder I have such an amazing support group kept the wind in my sails, just.
May is here...
The last few weeks have been a reminder on the preciousness of family. My dear pa suddenly became seriously ill. He is thankfully stable and very close to discharge after the amazing care provided by his medical team and nursing staff. I was very thankful to be by his side, with my sisters, to support him during the difficult, early days after admission.
His recovery over the next 4 weeks will determine if the team go ahead with a final procedure to improve dad’s prognosis. Based on his amazing efforts in rehab at the moment, we are extremely hopeful. ❤️❤️❤️
A little late, but I’m pushing ahead with my commitment to my MS fundraiser, the May50k. I’m aiming to clock up 5-10km each session, over the remaining days of May. My daily runs will be uploaded to my fundraising page via the Strava fitness app.
Thank you again to my amazing donors who have committed to this journey with me to help Kiss MS Goodbye. I’m incredibly grateful to you all X 💋
