I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

On the 19th April, I was diagnosed with MS after experiencing 10 days of an 'episode'.
At the time I didn't know what was going on with my body so played it off for a 5 days before finally going to ED where I was admitted to the Neuro ward and waited patiently for an MRI and Lumbar Puncture which confirmed my diagnoses, 5 days later.
Quick shout out to the Neuro Dr team at GCUH who were amazing throughout the process!
So, not knowing much about MS I did a quick crash course and I soaked up all of the information the Drs and Nurses gave me and have done reading to learn more about this disease and how it affects someone.
What I've learnt is that at the moment there is no cure for MS but there is some great treatment options to help reduce the symptoms and control the disease.
There are many people who are dedicating their lives to research to try and find a cure for MS and I want to help support them!
With that said, I am participating in The May 50K.
I will walk 50km over the month of May in support of finding a cure for MS by raising much needed funds to help continue the research.
With funds raised, Drs, professors, scientists and Co will be able to continue their research with new clinical trials and treatment plans to hopefully one day for a cure to stop this disease.

My Updates

May 3rd

Change of scenery for todays walk. Another 3km on the board. I love living so close to the beach!
Might need a day or two rest now. my leg is still having symptoms and not back to full strength yet. 
Hoping by the end of the month ill be able to run a few ks :)

May 1st part two

Another 3kms added to todays total. 
An afternoon walk with two of my biggest supports, Mum and Dad. (and sherlock of course)
5.6km for day 1!

May 1st part one

Day one was kicked off with an early morning walk before shane went to work (he works in NSW so no public holiday for him) So happy to have completed my first Ks with my favourite person and best doggo by my side.My right leg is still not 100% and still experiencing symptoms from my episode but it felt good to do my first bit of exercise in weeks and im hoping my leg will continue to keep getting stronger over the month.Im excited to see Ks on the board! 🤩
