of 1055KM GOAL

Day 31: boom! 126km

In between showers of rain my friend, Lucy & I walked 3.5km on her farm at Inglewood. A beautiful country walk to finish my walk for May. Well done Team Narelle Hotpants & Dukes.

Day 29: 2 more days

Jane & I walked to Mt Coot-tha summit this morning. It’s a beautiful cool morning in Brissy. A big thank you to everyone who has donated money for MS.

Day 26: narelle sleepover

Narelle has stayed the night. She enjoyed a glass of bubbles to celebrate her birthday after a 3 day wellness cooking retreat. Happy Monday!

Day 24 = 100km & a bit

Today, Ben & I walked 6.4km in Mount Tambourine National Park. Fun fact: it is QLD’s first national park. It was a great rainforest walk. We heard whip birds, saw a waterfall & lots of greenery. The walk included me making 100km! yay. Will keep going…

Day 23: happy birthday narelle

It’s Rach’s birthday today - I think she’s 45 years old 😉. I hit the gym this morning. It was all legs - bike ergs (ouch!). Happy Birthday, Rach! Looking forward to birthday 🥂 celebrations on Sunday 🍾

Day 22: getting there!

Good afternoon. Oscar dog & I enjoyed a leisurely stroll this afternoon. He’s panting…

Day 21: 10km to go

This morning a few more km’s in Brissy. A unfit haha runfit class (3km) and then stationary bike (5km). It’s a beautiful Autumn day here.

Day 19: monday

Good Monday morning. A gym workout followed by 5km stationary bike ride. Sweating like a trooper this morning / think they have turned off the air con in the gym. Bugger. Happy Monday! PS. my hobby at the moment is teaching myself to juggle. Research indicates it’s good for our brain (memory) - I need lots of practice. LOTS of practice. LOTS & LOTS…

Day 18: stepping out sunday

This morning Ben, Oscar dog & I had a lovely walk along the Brissy River. So much to be grateful for ❤️. Happy Sunday!

Day 16: 1 day over half way

A few km’s logged today. Gym workout included ski erg & stationary bike = km’s. Oscar dog 🐶 needed a walk. He was pooped after walking the Ascot hills so we made it a short one (1.8km).

Day 15: look at my shirt

I didn’t officially clock any km’s today but I wore my red shirt! Does that count for anything?

Day 14: keep it going (hump day!).

Oscar dog 🐶 & I were a bit slow to get going this morning. I blame the weather! Overcast with showers in Brissy. 2.6km. Happy Hump day!

Day 13: it’s tuesday

A morning walk with Oscar dog. He loves to eat white things. This morning was a tissue & Maccas straw! Happy Tuesday

Day 12: over half way!

A wet start to the day in Brissy. Now the sun is shining. Yay! I hope the washing dries! This morning a gym cardio workout followed by 5km stationary bike ride. Happy Monday!

Day 11: happy mother’s day

This morning I enjoyed an early morning walk through the streets of Sydney CBD. It was rather still & quiet at 6am. I noticed a few homeless people camping out near fast food outlets. I guess that makes it handy to toilets. Down by the Opera House I saw a bride and groom having their photos taken at 7am. A bit early! Maybe it was a photo shoot. There were a few runners and walkers too. Happy Mother’s Day to our beautiful Mums 🌸🩷🌸6.79km

Day 10: bondi to coogee coastal walk

It’s a great morning to step it out in Sydney. 16C & sunny with the odd cloud about. People are swimming in the ocean…brrr. 5.17km. Now enjoying a big brekkie! Have a great Saturday!

Day 9: graduation celebrations

Today, I was preoccupied by Dougal’s uni graduation & did not record a walk (even though I did a short walk to USyd from our accommodation). Nil km’s

Day 8: mt cootha

I met team member, Jane at 5:30am. It was dark. The head torch is coming in handy. We walked & talked the entire 4km. It seems to go so fast. Jane dropped her pull over which we only realised when we finished. Fortunately a nice member of the public had hung it up in a branch - she didn’t have to walk too far before she found it. phew! Happy Thursday!

Day 7: happy hump day

No stopping me today after an 8 hour sleep. Sleep is gold. I hit the gym including a short run workout (2.6km) & stationary bike ride (5km). Happy Wednesday

Day 6 - low battery

Feeling a bit energy less today. I think I know why - not enough sleep. I did manage to drag my arse out of bed & go to 5am reformer Pilates. Nil kilometers walked today. To bed early tonight!

Day 5: happy monday

Today, it’s Labor Day PH in QLD. Who doesn’t enjoy a long weekend. It’s overcast & drizzly. Oscar dog & I had to cut out walk short as it was a bit wet (2km). Also, cycled 5km on an ECHO bike in the gym. If you don’t know what an ECHO bike is - my advice dodge them. They are nasty (but good cardio). Have a great Monday.

Day 4

A lovely stroll by the Brissy river with Benjo & Oscar dog. A balmy 18C. 4km

Day 3: bright & early

A Saturday morning walk (3.25km) with Benjo & Oscar (labby). We stop off at the local IGA to collect croissants & weekend newspapers. It felt chilly because of the light breeze. Still 16C so not too much to whinge about. Happy Saturday 🌸

Day 2

A gym morning. Did a 45 min HIT class & then finished off with a gentle 5km cycle on a stationary bike. It feels a bit cooler here in Brissy. 16C. I think it’s the breeze. Lots happening in Brissy this weekend with NRL magic round. Keep up the good work. Have a great weekend.

Stepping out for ms

It was a beautiful morning (18C) for a walk in Brisbane. Team member (Jane), Oscar (black Labrador ) & I walked to The Summit at Mt Cootha, Brisbane. At the summit we were greeted by a group of folk dancers. An unexpected spectacle while taking in the sunrise over the Brisbane city.

2 more sleeps

My t-shirt arrived today 🙏. Getting ready to step it out for MS

Help us ‘power walk’ to raise funds for MS research

It’s a SHIT autoimmune disease

They say it’s a young person’s disease but Rach McDowall was diagnosed in 2024 at the age of 54.  She may have had it for awhile but we know is has had it for at least 2 years.

It’s knocked her down, like a MIKE TYSON punch but she is standing back up and ready to go

For those who don’t know much about MS

- there is NO cure

- Reseach hope to have a cure in the next 10 years

- more than 10 people are diagnosed with MS each week in Australia

- 3/4 of those living with MS in Australia are women

- For each case the progress, severity and specific symptoms are different

Please support the NARELLE HOTPANTS AND THE DAISY DUKES TEAM to help raise fund for life-changing research into MS
