Support my challenge to leave MS behind!

I’m taking part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure.

Please make a donation and support my challenge to leave MS where it belongs, behind us.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

Thank you!

MY IMPACT TO LEAVE MS BEHIND OVER 1 YEAR

My Updates

May 1st is almost here 😬

Hi there Friends &/or Sponsors,

This Friday 1st May is looming large in my mind…not just about the 150k of walking ahead, but also my journey over the years with MS:
- driving myself to emergency at Wakefield Hospital (using my left leg to operate the brake & accelerator!) when my right leg became lifeless
- learning to walk with a walking stick up & down stairs at Memorial Hospital
- being taught how to daily self-inject by a visiting MS Society nurse
- being suspended upside down during a spinal tap procedure that touched my spinal chord & sent my body into a short, sharp spasm!
- bending down to get something out of the fridge & losing sight in my left eye…then watching it come back in 25% arcs until I gave up & drove with 1/4 vision to my GP…who immediately sent me for chemotherapy at St Andrew’s Hospital (for what became a 3 times a week, for 4 weeks commitment)
- being tardy at doing the daily injections & wincing at the acidic liquid
- being relieved when a new oral treatment finally became available
- meeting my neurologist regularly & being MRI’d so often that I can now fall to sleep in the noisy spooky tunnel while my brain is 3D-nuclear scanned.

The good news is that I haven’t had an “event” for some time, and it’s the keeping fit & active that has got me to where I am today … able to give back to the researchers & scientists who are working on MS, its cause, treatment & cure - there is no cure!

If you can, any donation by way of sponsoring my MS Walk will help…and be greatly appreciated ~ thank you 💕

1 week to “take off”!

That’s right, May begins in just one week & so does my Walk150km campaign in support of research into MS.
A BIG thank you to those of you who have already sponsored me…if you haven’t yet & wish to do so, please click on the relevant link - I realise times are financially tough at the moment; any amount will assist, no matter how small!

Thank you to my Sponsors
